Prologue:
This is a report of the return segment of a trip that I took at the end of March. At the last minute LH decided to delay this flight by 3 hrs due to mechanical reasons. Since the delay was 3 hrs or less, I did not qualify for compensation per rule EC 261. Technically the delay had to be more than 3 hrs. .In the end my flight departed at 19:30 (Schd 16:35) and arrived in SFO at 23:20 (Schd 20:35).Besides the delay the flight was fine with friendly service and decent catering.I enjoyed spending time at the Senator lounge and took advantage of the buffet and shower facilities. It is always a pleasure to connect through MUC which is considered one of the best airports in the world.
On arrival at MUC I went to visit the LH Senator lounges by gates H and K.

Only few minutes were missing to be able to qualify for compensation.
But you still could send a claim to LH

- I don't know if that would do anything. When I talked to the agent at the lounge she said that since I was at the lounge I was already being compensated. She advised that i could try but didn't feel very hopeful.

- Just good planning. ;) I could have taken LX via ZRH but decided to fly LH just because of the A380.
I think LH has a very decent product in Y, especially the A380.

Yes, a pain that is even more irritating considering that I could have received compensation by 1 min. At least LH has a nice lounge to spend some time. Thanks for your comments.
