Prologue:

Hice este viaje en 2009 cuando Spanair todavía estaba operando y tenía su propia sala VIP que fue utilizada por otros miembros * A.

Llegué a la T2 y me dirigí hacia el mostrador de Spanair pasando por una serie de escaleras y ascensores. El mostrador de clase J estaba atendido por dos damas y una de ellas me imprimió el pase de abordar en un instante. Después me mostró la ubicación de la sala VIP (hoy es la Puerta de Alcala) y me deseó un buen viaje. Pasar por la seguridad fue rápido y pronto me dirigí al salón.

No mucho en cuanto a comida.

Patatas fritas.

Comedor.

Una imagen nostálgica

La distancia entre asientos era un poco estrecha pero el servicio fue amable y atento. Las toallas empacadas en frío se pasaron mientras estábamos sentados en la puerta y el departamento de espera. Se ofrecieron bebidas en copas. Al principio había agua DO y vino espumoso en las bandejas pero psgs podía pedir lo que quisieran. Posteriormente se repartieron revistas y periódicos en español inglés y alemán. El único defecto menor es la falta de colgador proactivo. De lo contrario la tripulación fue excepcional con una gran actitud y comportamiento profesional.

Después de despegar la sobrecargo principal tomó las órdenes de bebida y sirvió dos paquetes de maní con frutas secas a cada psgr. Había una comida caliente pero sin opción. Era un entrante de bistec con papas una ensalada con dos trozos de queso y un postre de flan. La carne estaba un poco insípida pero la cantidad era muy adecuada. Además la FA pasó con la canasta de pan aproximadamente 3 veces. Los vasos nunca estuvieron vacíos demostrando el alto nivel de servicio del personal.

Té servido con una pieza de chocolate después de la comida.

Summary:

Me complace haber tenido la oportunidad de viajar con Spanair antes de que se liquidaran. El servicio y la comida que recibí en este vuelo fueron muy buenos y es una pena que ya no existan.

Hi Thomas,

I'm glad that I was able to fly JK at that time. A friend of mine took them in J about a year later and reported that they were not doing hot meals in J anymore. Apparently the cost cutting was becoming evident.

Hi Casper,

As avgeeks we tend to treasure every airline experience, especially of those carriers that are no longer with us. My only regret is that I have not started this hobby earlier and recorded the flights that I had with Pan Am, Eastern, Air Florida, TWA, Piedmont, BMI and one or two others that I do not recall now.

Thankfully I was able to save a few pics when I traveled with Sabena and Malev and those were in J back then, so not everything is lost. .

Wow just before they liquidated in Jan. 2012. At least you had a chance to fly them and have some memories of it.

The lounge spread is very poor

On board the legroom is tight but the FAs were profesional

The meal is not appetizing

Nice memories from a dead company

Hi GG.

Back then I guess they could get away with just serving packaged goods and cookies. Overall lounge food has improved even in the US although it is not quite up there yet.

I think the meal was not bad. I love cheese and flan so that could be my subjective bias. ;)

We keep thing alive through memories.
