Prologue:

This report covers the return portion for my SIN-HKG trip back in Nov. 2018. This time it will be a regular 777-200ER. It's not a new airplane but service is just as good as the outbound.

SIN is an excellent airport and it is a stunning looking place. No wonder that is has received many awards as the "best airport" in the world. However for *A Gold members, SQ does not allow you to access its Business Class lounges which is a common practice with other members. Instead you are invited to go to the Krisflyer lounge - designated for its low tier elite members.

Having said that, the Krisflyer lounge is a comfortable space with decent catering. It is better than what is passed for "business" lounges by other members at their hubs. The only drawback is that there are no WC's inside and you need to exit the lounge if you need to use one.

The limousine from the hotel took us to the airport.

Summary:

Flying SQ is always an enjoyable experience no matter which cabin you choose.

It's unfortunate that *A Gold members can only access the Krisflyer lounge at SIN when flying Y instead of a proper J one, but the lounge is comfortable and has decent food.

Another fantastic TR Adan. Well it's a shame to separate *G from J pax but QR does the same. SQ remains a pleasure to fly. Thanks for the lovely TR.

    Hi Thomas,

It bothers me a bit to see *A Gold pax assigned an alternative lounge, even thought it is quite acceptable in terms of comfort and food sans WC's. i guess it's the principle of it.

    Thanks for your comments.

    Thanks for sharing this report

The food offer in the Silver Kris lounge seems to have improved
    It looks yummy

Another good flight with SQ but I prefer the Chinese option for the meal

    Great hotel report

    Bonjour GG,

The food at the Krisflyer lounge was actually quite decent.

The Chinese option was fish in black bean sauce. I eat black bean sauce dishes quite often at home so I wanted to try something different. ;) Variety is the spice of life as they say.

    I love the IC SIN.

"I would have liked it ;)"
    - Glad you approve. I think I have good taste. :P

i also like Singaporean food. Maybe we should do a trip together to compare notes. ;)

    Thanks.

    Gracias for this report Adan.
The Krisflyer lounge does not have WCs??? It is a joke for me!
The 772 seat looks a bit old but still better than lots of carriers. But I think the meal is not on par with your HKG-SIN flight despite it is still good.
Beautiful tourist bonus of Singapore. I haven't been there and I wish I will go in the future.

    Hi Aussenrist12,

Unfortunately that is the only negative point about the Krisflyer lounge. However the WC's are just around the corner from the lounge but I know what you mean.

The seats are showing their age, but this plane is supposed to have one of the most generous pitch of the fleet and it was roomy. Yes, the meal was a bit below compared to what i had on the inbound, especially the ice cream.

SIN is a worthy destination and it is so compact and easy to get around.

    Thanks for your comments.

    Hi there AAFlyer,

i know, it is a "minor" inconvenience but I guess we can't have it all. Maybe it's use as a differentiator. :P

    Thanks for stopping by.
