Prologue:
Back to April/May 2018, during the bank holidays about the labour day, I decided to discover Singapore for the first time. For this occasion, I also bought my first tickets in business. Until that date, I was exclusively traveling in economy. Trip will be judged with my feelings of today since I was able to travel a bit more in J.One way to go to Pudong airport is to use the Maglev (magnetic levitation). It's a train that can reach up to 430km/h in peak time and 301km/h in regular time. Normally the ticket costs 50RMB per journey however it will cost you only 40RMB if you have a Shanghai transportation card or a booking for a flight on the same day!
Arrived at the airport there is a dedicated counter for frequent travellers business class and first class.
I got my invitation to discover the lounge!
Time to queue at the immigration first...
As you can see the lounge is opened to many companies.

Only 4 massage seats that's clearly not enough for this 2 floors lounge...

Tonight flight will be operated by Shanghai Airlines a subsidiary from China Eastern Airlines
Welcome carpet!
This plane has a 2-2-2 configuration for the J. Seats are confortable but you don't have much privacy
Slippers are furnished but no amenities bag
USB and normal plug very convenient during the flight. The remote is quite outdated! Without touchable screen!
The headset is not cancelling noise...
Time to enjoy a cup of champagne!
That was interesting to notice that even for my first time in Business some people were even more lost than me! My neighbour had no clue how to put the seat into the sleeping position!

Surprised! That was only a snack for this flight no hot meal no breakfast that was quite disappointing when I think back about that!
Finally arrived at Singapore! The flight was smooth it's time to reach my hotel !

Summary:
That was my first flight in business, so I obviously enjoy it at that time.If I have to compare now with other companies, there will be some requested improvement points! The 2-2-2 configuration is not the one I prefer, no meals during the plane neither.
The lounge at Pudong airport should also be renovated but it's nearly impossible!

Il me semble qu'ils ont changé l'appareil pour un 787 maintenant en conf 1-2-1, je te dirai ca si j'y retourne!

Le salon ne change pas mais on s'y habitue à force.
Dans mon dernier YTR sur Singapour, opéré par la China Eastern il y avait un plat chaud. Ce vol snack-only était exceptionnel de mémoire.
Pour l'horaire de nuit, c'est un choix de ma part. Ca permet de partir après le boulot et de pouvoir profiter directement de la ville en arrivant, ca évite de perdre la journée en vol

Franchement pas top en effet. Cabine datée mais qui reste néanmoins confortable, en revanche le snack est une honte!

MU usually offers the lowest fares to Asia out of SFO, but as the old adage goes "you get what you pay for".
Lounge 36? Such a memorable name! Isn't that big lamp surrounded by the massage chairs inspired by AF?
Nice "Welcome" carpet upon boarding. Did the FA's still welcomed the pax? :P
For an Asian flight serving a snack for this trip seems cheap. That meal presentation is just one of the worst that I have seen for J cabin.
I don't think I'm in a hurry to try MU. Thanks for your sacrifice. ;)

The flight was quite a long time ago, so I don't remember if the FA welcomed us !
Normally MU provides good quality flights/meal (cf. my previous reports), but for this specific flight, there was something wrong!
