Prologue:
Inspired by Thomas' report of his hometown IC Marseilles, I decided to follow his steps and in turn offer a review of the IC Mark Hopkins in San Francisco. This historical property transports you back to a glamorous era of luxury in old San Francisco. Its rooms might not be the most modern, but what it lacks in contemporary design it compensates for it in old fashioned charm.

Thanks Adan for sharing such a classic hotel. I personally try to avoid as much as I can to get a room with a carpet. The view is stunning. A bit disappointed by the club choices.
If you have a higher floor the views are spectacular. I tend to prefer hardwood floors instead of carpet but this is an old property and I guess it's part of the charm. Buffet is not as extensive compared to other properties but it's sufficient for me as long as it has smoked salmon. ;)
Thanks.
