Prologue:
I was looking forward to trying the new first class lounge. Let's see if it was up to my expectations...After my flights back in august 2015 where I bought the ticket from CDG to BKK via DOH with QR I was greeted by a QR rep after my flight. It's no longer the case... A real shame since they don't have a lot of F lights. QR should have kept the service. Anyway
Welcome to the Lounge.
The now famous rainfall tube.
The bar.
The ktchen
The table for my dinner
The menu. Nothing really stood out as First Class. The leather menu is good but if you only put a used paper.. It won't be great.
The soup.
With chunks of seafood.
The lamb.
I really enjoyed the meal
I wanted to remain light... I went or the fruits plate.
With 7 hours to go
Massage room
Paying for a Jacuzzi
QR's strong advantage over Emirates and Etihad. You can get for 6 hours max a private room with a shower to rest. It's a smart move given how long you may have to connect. After 4 hours rest.
I decided to freshen up.
At 2am I went to the boarding gate (taken after)
My bird for the next 6 hours.
I was welcomed and taken to my seat by one of if not the best FA ever. Her name Yonnie. More on that later.
Sparkling water for me.
Pajama and kit.
I decided to eat my breakfast before landing
And picked the light options.
The middle seat with the slider up.
HUge screen !
Nearby the toilet
The gorgeous toilet.
Picking a movie (such a sad story) with the remote.
Take off.
The light option. Eating at 4 am
The bar.
With snacks
Such a comfortable bed ! Despite the lack of privacy.
I slept from there.
Orange juice and cold towel to start the day.
A bit bland with no dressing like olive oil.
Delicious fish.
Beautiful layout and fruits. The croissant was so so.
Greek Yogurt.
Landing in 35 minutes.

Summary:
Lounge :- Staff : All were very polite but the service in the restaurant was the downright of my stay. My soup was far from finish and they brought me the main... Not really a first class feeling. Aside from that, I was served by an impressing young bartender. He was so enthusiast about his job, it was a treat to discuss and see him in motion. Passionate by wines, he will soon fly to France to learn about the wines. Paid by himself. Thanks buddy.
- Design : Wow it's really huge, pictures don't do justice. Maybe too much for me. If you ask me, design wise, QR is better than EK and EY.
- Catering : While the meals were good, it did not impress me like Etihad's lounge. The menu should be improved.
- Spa and bathroom : Paying for a spa is for me a wrong move given that your competitors give a 15 minutes complementary massage.
What I really appreciated was the private room, not a quiet area a la EK or EY.
Flight :
- Crew : OMG, Honnie aside from her stunning beauty, was a masterpiece. It's the kind of FA you wish to have in any flights. Guess what I had the please to served by her on my way back.
- Catering : The light options were good, the breakfast is more like a brunch for me. too bad the salad was a bit bland.
- Comfort : I slept like a baby, the lack of privacy is not an issue for me. You can use the slider. I enjoyed the fast, reliable and unlimited data wifi provided on board (voucher given to FC pax).
Overall, it was a great flight. It's amazing how a FA can dramatically improve your experience.
I recommend you to try QR in First.
Thanks for reading !
