Prologue:

End of my summer vacation in Europe. I departed from FRA because I was able to redeem an award through Alaska for 55.000 miles in J. Unfortunately there was nothing into SFO but Vancouver was close enough and it's on the West Coast with easy connections so I grabbed it.

This was my second time flying Condor and I love its J cabin. Cabin seats are private with aisle access, service is professional and catering is solid. I will dare say that I prefer it over LH J.

Arrived at the check in and it was quick and smooth. This was a stark contrast to my last experience a couple of years ago when the line took forever to move. I guess things have improved.

A quick stop at the LH shop to browse but I didn't end up buying anything of interest.

DE has an agreement for the use of LH lounges in FRA. I have been here before and it is OK. Nothing outstanding to be honest. It just serves its purpose. Items were not replenished regularly but I was here just to grab a drink and go.

We had to take a bus to get to the plane which always provides a great opportunity to do some plane spotting on the tarmac.

My seat on the last row of J. The WC was behind which worked out great because every time I used it there was no line. It's like having my private WC.

Unfortunately there was no Riesling on the menu but the FA went to the back and found me one to try. Fantastic service!

I wanted to have the salmon but by the time the FA reached my seat that option was gone so I had the chicken instead. That's the problem with seating in the last row and not having a pre-order system.

Not a bad dish. Portion was correct and it was tasty.

Cheesecake with raspberry sauce for dessert. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake but I will eat it.

Summary:

This was my second time flying DE in J and I can honestly say that I really enjoy this product. The cabin is pleasant and elegant with very comfortable seats. Redeeming 55.000 miles + $200+ in taxes is a great proposition anyway you look at it.

The catering is very generous for the first appetizer course compared to other airlines. This is one feature that I really love about DE. If they can only provide pre-ordering so that everyone gets their first choice that would have been perfect.

    Woof ! JetSetPanda !
It's always a pleasure to discover one of your reports !

Yes. Check-in seems definitely adequate compared to last year. The lounge is average... less so.
On board, the cabin feels cozy. Did you choose this seat deliberately? The wine list is too modern for me. Pasta, chicken, or even salmon don't exactly sound business class. Even though they were good. The second course doesn't make my mouth water;)
Afterwards, the overall service remains quite decent.

Superb, refreshing photos upon arrival !
Thank you JetSet' for sharing this beautiful report (as usual:)
