Prologue:
On my way to Dubai, I said the routing might have been called “My Quest for Balik Salmon”…. You'll will understand why later on the report..I left you after landing from Istanbul.
It's 6:30 am.
I went to Terminal 3 to check-in for my late flight. But..
When I arrived I told the agent I'm on the 2 am flight. He stared at me with a weird look probably thinking
Red carpet..
I came back to the agent and he was able to deliver me the boarding pass. Now should I go at 7 am to the lounge ? No
Fast forward
On the way !
Elevator
There you are... Love the massive look. You will find the complete review here : http://youtripreport.com/Report/Lounge/14-review-about-the-lounge-emirates-first-lounge-conc-a-dubai-intl-arp
Attached to the lounge you have the spa where you enjoy 15 min complementary massage.
Gorgeous !
Being checked-in.
The map to guide you..
I went straight to eat.
A quick look to the buffet.
Nicely dressed.
My choice to start.
The menu for lunch and dinner for the 3 courses.
View from my place.
Excellent scallops.
The sea bass with crunchy veggies.
While the sea bass is good
Weird desert
After my meal
After a long shower
I just got few bites...
I started to feel numb and needed a nap to recover from my meal. Emirates provides a quiet area where you can rest. It's not a private room a la Qatar Airways but comfortable enough to sleep.
I managed to sleep for 1h30.
At 7:45 pm on my way for my massage I noticed the cheese buffet.
At 8pm sharp
The seat for my massage.
At 10pm I went back to the restaurant.
I did not want to have a full meal
I ordered the beef to be rare. Let's see if it's the case.
Cooked to perfection !
Soccer fan with my team (Marseille)
It was time to board from the lounge.
After being taken to my seat by a lovely FA
Damn
Welcome drinks with crakers and olives.
Kit and pajama.
Headset.
The control panel for your seat and light.
Menu was handed out.
At first I wanted to have the supper
The tail camera.
In the air.
I called the FA to make my bed and was kindly sent upstairs to wait.
Ready for a good night.
After a solid 5 hours sleep
My apple juice
Scrambled eggs.
Final shoot before landing.

Summary:
Lounge :I was really looking forward to trying the Emirates lounge. Was it up to my expectation.
Yes and no. Let me break it down :
Design : When you have a map to guide you, you can be sure to have a huge lounge. The design does not stnd out from the crowd.
Confort : The lounge is was too big for me. It gives however all the comfort needed. Individual room should have been put in place. The quiet room is good enough to have a quick break. All seating are comfortable.
Restauration : Aside from the Balik Salmon and the scallops, nothing stood out. both meals were good but not great.
Service : All staff were great with me. Smiling, chatting. A big kudos to them.
Entertainment : Wifi was good, kids room is a plus but a far cry from QR.
All in All, I'd be happy to get back but won't make a big detour for it.
Flight with QF :
The crew were absolutely adorable and genuine.
Cabin : What a large bed, I slept like a baby but looking forward to trying it on a ultra long haul.
Catering : Hard to tell from what I've seen, the breakfast was really good thought.
Hope you enjoyed the report and feel free to share your thought!
