Prologue:
When I arrived in Hanoi, one staff member was asking passengers if they have a transit.I said yes to Shanghai and they invited me to wait on the side...
I informed that I know the way to go to the lounge and they repeated to wait. This I don't like!
A few minutes after, another person arrived to inform me that my flight is cancelled due to a storm in Shanghai.
(Let's explain, when in Shanghai there is a storm alert, it only means there will be raining... Nothing more!).
So they told me that my flight is rescheduled for the day after, which is impossible for me.
They told me there is no solution so I've to pass the border and get a free hotel. However, I informed them that I already used my free visa the week before and consequently I'm not eligible to the visa this time. At this instant, the guy froze!
I've checked the Shanghai airport website and saw that only a few flights were cancelled. So I started to bargain to get another flight with a transit in Beijing or Hong Kong. They said that it's possible however, the second flight will have to be paid by myself... F***. But no choice. So I pushed them to get a seat to Beijing. It took them 1h to give me a new BP while on their website, it showed a full availability! Which was finally true as we were 3 pax in J!
I showed you the lounge last time, so no need to put the same pics again!
After the lounge I moved to the boarding gate my plane was already waiting for me!
As you can see this 787-900 has a similar layout with the A350-900.
Today's lunch.
And time to push back on time!
October 1st the new magazines were already onboard good point!
And some spotting before taking off. Not so many companies are flying here. Mostly they come from China Vietnam or Asia globally.
The J cabin is full today. I've no clue where I could sit!
I fell asleep right after taking off and nearly missed the meal because the FA didn't wake me up! Finally I should have slept more: They brought me the wrong main dish ! The starter was soso (too much mayonnaise ...) main dish was not the one I ordered and was not tasty. The dessert was already on the platter: the 3 pieces of fruits.
Time for landing to Beijing Capital.
After a long taxiing I guess nearly 15/20min we have arrived!

Summary:
Well, honestly that wasn't the best Business experience on this flight. Another mistake on the order, the food really not tasty, not the good flight because of some rain in Shanghai...However, the immigration in Beijing was very efficient.
After that I had to run to catch the next flight. You'll discover that in the next report!

Le catering présente bien visuellement mais au goût c'était autre chose apparemment.

That's incredible : they refused to reroute you although they cancelled your flight

La décision : La Cour de justice de l'Union européenne rappelle
que le réglement (CE) n°261/2004 s'applique à un vol avec
correspondance dont le premier vol a été effectué au départ d'un
aéroport de l'Union européenne même si le second vol a été
effectué par un transporteur non européen vers un aéroport hors
de l'Union européenne. La Cour se base sur la décision qu'elle
a rendu le 31 mai 2018 dans l'affaire Wegener (C-537/17)
(voir arrêt ci-dessous) pour affirmer qu'un vol avec une ou
plusieurs correspondances ayant fait l'objet d'une réservation
unique constitue un ensemble, aux fins du droit à indemnisation
des passagers. La question posée était de savoir si la compagnie
aérienne tchèque est tenue au paiement de l'indemnisation.
La Cour indique que l'obligation d'indemnisation pèse uniquement
sur le transporteur aérien effectif du vol concerné. La Cour
souligne que, dans le cadre de vols avec une ou plusieurs
correspondances donnant lieu à une réservation unique,
un transporteur aérien effectif ayant réalisé le premier vol
ne peut arguer du fait que le retard important subi est dû
au vol ultérieur opéré par un autre transporteur aérien.
A noter que, dans ce cas, la compagnie aérienne indemnisatrice
a le droit de se retourner contre l'autre compagnie aérienne
afin d'obtenir la compensation du paiement de l'indemnisation.

Franchement un cran en dessous des 2 précédentes expériences... La cabine semble confortable mais après tout le reste est vraiment pas top et ne fait pas rêver...
Franchement une gestion de "l'incident" vraiment nulle... Non seulement c'est toi qui te trouves toi même une solution, et en plus tu dois payer! Essaye de faire marcher l'assurance de ta carte bancaire, on ne sait jamais.
