Prologue:

Welcome to this final leg of my trip from SJO to SFO.

At the time I had Silver status with CM Connectmiles and part of the benefit was complimentary upgrades on the day of departure. As luck would have it, I was upgraded at the gate which came as a surprise since I was not expecting one.

The COPA Club is the only club after security inside the terminal and is used by other carriers. The entrance is between a coffee shop and a store so if you don't look carefully you can miss it. When you enter you need to take the elevator to the 2nd floor to check in at the reception.

Summary:

The Copa Club is the only one available at this airport and the renovation has made it more modern and appealing. However during busy periods the lounge can really feel crowded and a bigger lounge is needed. Catering leaves a lot to be desired. In the past there were only packaged snacks in the afternoon and evenings so the sandwiches are a welcome addition.

Aboard CM offers an average product and catering can be improved. All flights to the US go through a second x-ray check at the gate. Most crew are polite but on this flight I had an outstanding FA.

    Hi Thomas,

I wish CM had widebodies. Yes, it's awfully long on a 737.

    Salut Antoine,

I have seen it crowded and I'd rather be at the terminal when that happens. I can't believe that there is no other club for premium pax in an airport like this. Hopefully with the new terminal (still under construction) they will open a new facility.

Hey Panda, another good review. CM is not a carrier I'm dying to try. Thanks again for sharing.

    Hola Casper,

When you are in Latin America there are not that many carriers to choose from. At least CM is punctual. ;)

    Ouch !
    What a beautiful YTR, Panda.
You make us living your flight with you. Well done !

Old airports have their own..how can I say..Charms^^
On board, it is always nice to have something to eat- for free (I rarely use BoB : looking someone eating, or the contrary,.. I don't really enjoy).
Interesting traffic at GRU. Lucky end on the tarmac !

I feel hungry, now, with your bonus !

    Thanks for sharing, Adan !
